The goals:
When Millgate General Store owners Jim, Mike, and Mary Hurst decided to take a leap and open a new gas station and convenience store in Burlington, WI they knew they wanted something special. Their vision was to blend this new building into the streetscape of the old downtown. They wanted to pull in the history of their town and give their customers the feeling of an old-fashioned general store; where they would be greeted with a smile and provide exceptional customer service!
The amenities:
To make their customers feel welcome and offer them some unique amenities the Hurst’s went above and beyond the pizza and hot dogs typically offered in c-stores. They invested in a full service fresh deli and a dining area complete with a TV and fireplace. While in the dining space you can take a closer look at the history of their town by admiring a custom mural designed by Westphal in Brownsville WI. There is also a large walk-in beer cave with a great selection of Wisconsin beers and beyond!
