Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Building Type: Ground-Up
Project: 25,733 Sq. Ft. Collision Center
Scaffidi decided to build their new Collision Center because they identified an underserved marketplace in the Stevens Point area. They also wanted to own their real estate, rather than rent, allowing for increased efficiency by consolidating operations under one roof.
The project features a stylish and comfortable customer service area with in floor heat as well as a drive-in estimating area for added appeal and ease of use for clients. It also features brand new down draft paint booths employing the newest technology to provide the highest quality collision repair. The exterior walls of the work area are insulated metal panels to provide a clean look inside and out and creating a comfortable and tidy area to work, all while boosting the energy efficiency of the building.
Scaffidi’s Collision Center had a few challenges that Keller was able to solve for the owner. They wanted a design that appealed to the comfort of the clients and the Keller Architect worked through several different design concepts to achieve that. Keller staff also worked to maximize the existing building site, putting the most square footage on the property as possible while maintaining flow and efficiency. Working with the city government, Keller overcame a property setback encumbrance by applying for and receiving a variance requiring multiple meetings.
